People drive sometimes 2 hours or more north of Toronto to catch some fall colours in Muskoka or in Haliburton regions. Some even rent a cottage this time of a year for $400/ day or so. Not necessary, I say. You can find fall beauty in many parks and ravines of the city, plus catch salmon jumping the dams on Humber or Credit rivers.
