TREASURE to continue with 10 members after Bang Ye Dam & Mashiho leave group

TREASURE will continue has a 10-member group after now-former members Bang Ye Dam and Mashiho have been confirmed to be leaving the group. This doesn’t necessarily come as a huge surprise, as the pair went on hiatus back in May of this year, with the claim being Yedam would be studying music and Mashiho would be taking care of his health, and then had a comeback without them as well.

Going forward, TREASURE will transform into a 10-member group – consisting of Choi Hyun Suk, Jihoon, Yoshi, Junkyu, Yoon Jae Hyuk, Asahi, Doyoung, Haruto, Park Jeong Woo, and So Jung Hwan.
After a long and careful discussion with Mashiho and Bang Ye Dam, we mutually agreed to conclude the contracts between the two and YG Entertainment.
We have reached such agreement so that Mashiho can have enough time to recover from his health condition, and Bang Ye Dam can pursue his career as a producer.
Knowing that all of TREASURE’s fans have been waiting for Mashiho and Bang Ye Dam, we are very sad about their departure as they have been with TREASURE from the beginning. We ask for your continuing support for Mashiho and Bang Ye Dam.

Pretty significant loss here, especially Bang Ye Dam, who always seemed like the standout at least for me. And while I would love to believe YG Entertainment just cares a lot about these two members and gave them a free release or something, I’m skeptical at least other negotiations weren’t held behind the scenes and it should be interesting if that stuff ever emerges.
